Is 17 DAY 4th Gen Test ( Antigen And Antibody) Accurate, Given My Low Exposure?
I performed receptive fellatio on a guy of unknown status on 24th october.
I used a condom for the same.
There was no penetrative sex. To finish, the guy was over rubbing his penis on my thigh ( with the intact condom)
The guy did not ejaculate in my mouth. He ejaculated in the condom, when his penis was on my thigh.
Once he was finished, I realised the sperm was pink in color ( possible bleeding from his penis)
I checked the condom and did a water test and did not find any obvious leak from the condom and to my best knowledge it was intact.
I did my HIV duo 4th gen test today ( i.e on 17 days post exposure) and it was non-reactive.
The reason i took the test is because for the past 4-5 days , i've had bad body aches and a sore throat and feel feverish ( however the temperature has never crossed 98.6).
I'm worried if these are seroconversion ( ARS symptoms)
I have to travel internationally in a week hence 28 day testing won't be possible.
My question is
1. is 17 DAY 4th gen test ( antigen and antibody) accurate, given my low exposure?
2. should i get a RNA PCR test? in XXXXXXX ( where i'm from) only quantitative test is available.
3.
I also got my CBC done- my lymphocytes are normal but ranging towards lower end. should i be worried?
pl suggest me, i'm going crazy over here and don't have anyone to talk to..
I'm attaching my reports for your persual.
No further testing is required as the risk is very low.
Detailed Answer:
Dear,
You have done receptive fellatio with condom and the condom was intact through out the act then you need not to worry because the risk of getting HIV is exceptionally low. There was no penetrative sex and the partner status was unknown which further reduces the risk so don't get anxious or worried.
The symptoms you have are seasonal due to common viral illness and not related to seroconverson or ARS. You can consult any local physician and take treatment for these symptoms. HIV 4th generation test after 17 days of exposure is reliable but as the risk is negligible I don't think any further test is required. Be relaxed, forget the episode and live your life normally. If you have any further doubt, feel free to ask me any time.
Thank You
