Is 450 Mg Of Lamictal A Safe Dosage?
Question: How much does this cost me? my doctor prescribed 450 mg taken at night. This is the 1st time I have ever taken lamictal. I have been extremely sick since I XXXXXXX taken this Monday night. Could I be suffering an overdose????

The starting dose of lamictal is just 50 mg and dose should be attempted to increase after one week only.
I do not think 450 mg is right dose from the beginning as it is beyond the tolerance range for most individuals.
I mean to say that there is high possibility that you are experiencing side effect of lamictal due to overdose.

How long does lamictal symptoms of possible overdose since Monday and it is now Saturday typical last? Are the symptoms going to continue making me sick??
Just so you know: Since tues am I was throwing up until today (sat). My nausea is still with me. I have been coughing day and night bringing up flem since I took my one and only dose. I have EXTREME fatigue, horrendous headaches, EXTREME sleepiness, extreme night sweats. I have had insomnia for yrs even pulling all highter at lease 1x night per wk. I can NEVER fall asleep right away but since Mon. I fall asleep before I even know it and it's very hard to wake up in the am, plus I take naps during the day, which I NEVER do!

Anything if you take in amount which is toxic will continue to have toxic effects as long as you are taking it. I do not think we can predict how long this will last.
Having said this some individuals adjust with high dose in span of two- four weeks and with optimistic note we can expect in your case but it is possible that you may continue feeling sick as long as dose is high.
I think lower the dose to 200 mg per day which is well within therapeutic dose range (not a starting dose) which may help you in relieving the sickness which you are experiencing for last five days.

I only took the 1 dose a wk ago, and am today for the 1st time feeling somewhat better, but all symptoms are still with me. How much longer is typical to continue having these symptoms???
