Is Actifed Advisable To Treat Cold During Pregnancy?

Question: can i use actifed, i have serious cold but am 6months pregnant
Brief Answer:
Not completely safe
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Actified should be preferably avoided in pregnancy as it a FDA category C drug which means that animal studies have shown to cause anomalies when taken in pregnancy, however no human studies are done.
For cold, you should take levocetrizine tablet and steam inhalation two to three times a day to relieve the symptoms.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Can take a single tablet for relief
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, if she is in severe discomfort, then she can take a single tablet of actified now, as single tablet will not cause any effect on fetus.
However, she should avoid it taking regularly.
