Is Adderall Compulsory To Treat ADHD?

Question: the question is about my son.I was wondering what is the reason a psychiatrist won't prescribe adderal to a patient who is diagnosed with ADHD
Brief Answer:
Subtypes need anything be considered
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.
ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can be predominantly of Inattention or Hyperactive/Impulsive subtype. Unless hyperactivity is predominant, it is no use prescribing Adderal. Moreover Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) plays a significant role and should be tried first. ADHD is basically lifelong and awareness of the problems helps in developing coping mechanisms which enable the person to deal better with the situation. CBT does exactly this and hence is considered more important than medication. That is probably the reason your psychiatrist has not prescribed Adderal to your son.
