Question: Interested in Alpha Lopoic Acid. Have severe nerve damage in part of my head. Also
had 6 treatments of accupunture, Which did not improve my problem

Alpha lipoic acid helps with nerve pain and is generally safe in adults. However there are few things that you need to be aware of while taking Alpha Lipoic acid.
-It can lower your blood sugar levels.If you are taking anti diabetic medications,please consult your doctor to see if dose adjustment of medications is needed. while taking alpha lipoic acid,if you develop dizziness,sweating,confusion it indicates low blood sugar.consume 15-20 grams of glucose immediately and contact your doctor.
Limit alcohol consumption while taking alpha lipoic acid .
If you are on thyroid medications,consult your doctor before starting on alpha lipoic acid as you may need dose adjustment of thyroid medication
