Question: my son forgot to bring his lisinopril , I have amlodiprine and isosorbid. Can he take one of those today. all pharmacies are closed for the holiday. I know it's not recommended, but this is an emergency. What else would be comparable?

Brief Answer:
Of the two, amlodipine 5 mg should be okay

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
As you are well aware that all the three mentioned medications are of different class .
However Lisinopril has a potent anti-hypertensive action which is replicated by amlodipine.
Isosorbid doesn't fall in the same group and cannot be used for any hypertensive effect .

Also amlodipine should just work fine for a day and you need not panic and stress yourself to get Lisinopril.

However going back to previously prescribed regime at the earliest is best .

Do let me know if any clarification is needed and I would be happy to help .
