Is Anoro Better Than Atrovent Inhaler For Better Management Of COPD Symptoms?
Question: I have been using an Atrovent HFA inhaler for some time and fell that it isn't helping like it did. Is Anoro the same or would that be more halpful ?
Brief Answer:
Bronchodilator details
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Atrovent inhaler contains ipratropium bromide which belongs to a class of medication called anticholinergic.
Anoro is a combination medication containing Umeclidinium (which is an anticholinergic like Atrovent) and vilanterol(which is long-acting beta agonist).
Since you are currently not feeling relief with Atrovent alone, it would be best to add a short-acting beta agonist like Albuterol or inhaled corticosteroid along with Atrovent rather than starting Anoro which contains long-acting beta agonist.
Please discuss this with your treating physician.
Hope this answers your question.
