Is Avil Effective At Treating Anal Itching?
Question: Hi I have been taking Allerga 180 mg for itching around Anus but no use for last 5 days . Is avil better option , I m also on taking Sitcom tablet dose for last 7 days . Please guide
Brief Answer:
Allegra is better. Also can try Atarax
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear. Tab Allegra is better than tab. Avil to control itching. Moreover avil has sedative action. You can also try tablet Atarax. Also you can take tab Mebendazole 2 times a day for 3 days. I guess you are having pin worm infection which causes itching around anus at night. so Mebendazole is given to treat it. You can continue Sitcom.

So I visited DOC again today and he has similar kind of obeservation that perhaps it is not allergic but fungal/ bacterial infection ( Ring worm) and prescribed FORCON 200 mg and ITRACONAZLE CREAM . Will it help and ok please guide .Also I have a follow up question is these medicine has some other side effect on consuming alcohol ( As I need to attend few get together in weekend ) .. Please address both the queries .
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
Minimal side effects. Safe to take, but do not consume excess alcohol
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Forcon 200mg and itraconazole is used to treat fungal infection. You can take it as prescribed by your doctor. There is no harm in taking it if you are consuming alcohol, but do not consume excess of alcohol as the drug causes slight increase in liver enzymes which may get exaggerated with alcohol. So i suggest do not exceed 90ml. It is safe and has very minimal side effect, which is very unlikely for a short duration of treatment. Nothing to worry.

So last question I have taken Forcon yesterday and today also and applied the cream also . Yesterday though bit relief but had itching in night . Today also after taking FORCON its ok but after some time ( Though not to extent at earlier level) feels like itching . What u suggest should I continue with FORCON for next 2-3 days or Try Mebendazole as suggested by you earlier ( My Doc advise to take only 2 DoZ of FORCON but I don't think after 2 it is showing any symptoms of complete relief ) . Awaits u r revert at earliest please .
Brief Answer:
Continue Forcon. Try Mebendazole also
Detailed Answer:
Hi. You can continue taking Forcon as suggested by your doctor. At the same time you can also take Tab. Mebendazole twice a day for 3 days. Forcon is for fungal infection, while Mebendazole is for intestinal worm infection. Intestinal worms crawl out of anus at night and cause itching in the area.
