Is Azithral Safe For A 13 Month Old Infant Suffering From Throat Infection?

Can be given if you want, but not required
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Most of respiratory tract infections are due to viral cause and antibiotics are unnecessarily given unless there are definite parameters present to indicate that the infection is bacterial. About sore throat, most often it is either due to certain viruses like Ebstein Barr Virus or some bacterial infections like Streptococcus. Irrespective of whether it is due to viral or bacterial cause, sore throat is self limiting and does not need to be treated with antibiotics. Gurgling with lukewarm water (you have to train your child for the same) is enough. But if you want, there should not be a problem if you give Azitral now.
