Is CRP Value Of 90 A Cause For Concern?

Question: Can you have a crp of 90 but with no fever? I've had a fever up untill today when in disapeared. Yesterday crp was 30 with a feber but 90 today without a fever.i have severe sinusitis and bronchitis. Coughing up greenish phlegm, and the discharge from my noesw is thick Yellow and bloody. Yesterday fever was around 38.5, now 37.5.

Also started erythromycin and suddenly feeling very weak, is that common?

CRP is called acute phase reactant. It can increase in many conditions like infections, inflammatory, arthritis, vasculitis and even cancer.

In your case the elevated CRP is due to your throat infection. Level of CRP doesn't correlate with degree of fever. In the first 2 days CRP will be mildly elevated but starts increasing from 3-4th day and then starts reducing from 5-6th day provided if the infection is treated with right antibiotic.

The antibiotic prescribed to you is fine and I recommend you to continue it. Don't worry about the CRP , it shall decrease in 3-4 days .
