CRP is called acute phase reactant. It can increase in many conditions like infections, inflammatory, arthritis, vasculitis and even cancer.
In your case the elevated CRP is due to your throat infection. Level of CRP doesn't correlate with degree of fever. In the first 2 days CRP will be mildly elevated but starts increasing from 3-4th day and then starts reducing from 5-6th day provided if the infection is treated with right antibiotic.
The antibiotic prescribed to you is fine and I recommend you to continue it. Don't worry about the CRP , it shall decrease in 3-4 days .
