Is Copper T Advisable After First Child Birth While Getting Treated For PCOS?
Question: Hi, My wife had got her first period 6 months after delivery on 13th March 2018. Since then she had been having irregular heavy bleeding and on diagnosis, we got to know it is due to polycystic ovaries and thickened endometrium(25mm). she is currently on medication for the same. we are thinking of using Copper T (IUD insertion) for birth control. Can she get it done with the ongoing treatment? Will it be safe for her health. I have attached her pelvis scan report and current medication prescription for better understanding. Please advice. Regards Aqhil
Brief Answer:
Is she lactating
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
If she is not lactating she can be on oc pills for some time before putting copper T.
Very difficult to understand the prescription. Can you send me the names if medicines she is taking.
Since the endometruim is thickened a minor procedure to sample endometruim may be discussed with your gynaecologist.
FEEL free to ask your doubt with more details.

Brief Answer:
She is already on oral contraceptive pills
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
She is already on oral contraceptive pills daily. so I don't think you need to put copper T now.
Mean while discuss with your obstetrician regarding lactation and ovral L.
As suggested follow up with scan regarding her endometrial thickness. If it increases need to sample the endometruim.
