Question: my dads 84 and he went to diabetic doc yesterday. he's been taking Cymbalta for 5 yrs. his doc. didn't know about this. his liver enzymes were up and she said Cymbalta was the worst thing for liver. my mom has taken it for 1 year. she has chirosis of liver. my sis had a liver transplant recently and takes it. she said all her docs knew it and said it was safe. shes a psychologist and got my mom & dad on it. who is right? His doc. said we have to wean him and my mom off due to suicidal thoughts.

What should I do about my sister since she had a liver transplant & all the Birmingham doctors know she's on it? And I guess, agree its okay!I was taking st johns wort for a year & ran out 3 months ago. I forgot to get some. My stress level is way up due to my aging parents. They fall all the time. I am now running my dads farm equipment business. My speech all of a sudden turned fast. My level of thinking moved up a notch and actually I've reached a different plane. I know it sounds crazy and due to my fast talking my family thinks I'm crazy. Although I know I'm not. But I figured out it all started when I quit taking the st johns. Now I'm back on it for 3 days now and find myself tapering off. My speech has slowed down. I don't want to entirely lose my "new" self. If that makes since. My decision making was much sharper during the 3 months. But my speech was getting faster & faster because my mind was working faster. My lips couldn't keep up with my mind. I couldn't get my thoughts out fast enough. Does any of this make sense without having me committed(LOL) I'd rather not take lexopro,prozac nor cymbalta. I want to be able to think clearly while taking care of my parents. My parents are trying to get me on cymbalta to SLOW me down. I refuse, due to the problem it has caused them! Is st. johns okay?

I understand completely now. Had my sister not had the transplant, and had been taking cymbalta, it would NOT have been good. Correct? I printed off the info under this site on what major drugs interact with cymbalta.(www.drugs,com) It is 210 & 733 moderate. I showed my parents & intend to show my "psychological" sister before she intervenes again. At one time she had them on lexapro. I wish she'd quit "playing" doctor with my parents. How about this...My Dad uses those diabetic needles. He throws them on the florr after using them(with dried blood on them). Keep in mind that he's 84. I guess that's as good of an excuse as any. One day I was cleaning his floor, I stuck an old bloody needle between my thumb nail(it stuck hard). I pulled it out and my blood poured out. I wrapped it. That was 2-3 months ago. My thumb no longer hurts at the nail, but it hurts terribly in the joint near my wrist. Please don't tell me to go to the doctor due to my deductible being $3000 due to this Obama plan. I had a urine test done for a physical for my CDL's. Would Hepatitis c have shown up? I guess I could donate blood to really see. I am a female, 51, in good health, 6' tall, 153#. I battled a boyfriend with cirrhosis of the liver due to hepatitis c(he Took the injections to get rid of the hepatitis). He's out of my life. I got checked for that and at that time didn't have hepatitis c. To battle that and to get it from an 84 yr. old father would be rather ironic! Can you understand why I'm a little stressed?
