Brief Answer:
cyproheptidine is not a good medicine

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking on HealthCareMagic. Let me mention that there are no medicines that can increase hunger or nutrition in children. Children not feeding well is a problem that many parents face frequently. When the bug the doctor with this, the doctor usually prescribes either cyproheptidine or a vitamin supplement. Though cyproheptidine or cypon indeed has increase in hunger as a side effect which is utilised here, it is not a good medicine and has bad effects on the liver and I would not recommend using it. Unless definite vitamin deficiency symptoms are present, I would not recommend vitamin supplements too.

So, discontinu cypon and try to coax your child to eat. Bring variety to the food items a d hope that you will learn how to make your child eat. No other process as carbohydrates supply energy and are required in bulk and proteins build the body and are required in good amount too, so cannot be contained in medicines.

Hope that helps. Feel free to revert back in case of further queries if any.
