Is Doxycycline Advisable For Severe Acne In A 17-year-old?

Question: My 17 yr old daughter is having a hard time with acne and a friend of hers recommended using WebMD. SHE WAS Prescribed Doxycycline Monohydrate and it helped clear up her complextion.
Brief Answer:
Continue doxycycline, benzoyl peroxide, soap free cleanser, moisturiser
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have reviewed the attached photographs and she is having moderate grade of acne.
If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to continue with doxycycline 100 mg once daily at bedtime for atleast 12-14 weeks.
Also apply benzoyl peroxide 2.5 percent gel on the acne lesions twice daily along with a mild soap free cleanser for washing face and noncomedogenic moisturising cream on the entire face 2-3 times daily.
Oral antibiotics are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

THANK you Dr. My daughter has not taken the doxycycline monohydrate, her friend has had success with it. The dermatologist that prescribed the Differen has retired and closed her practice. I WAS hoping to get a prescription from this service..
