Is Femilon Safe For A Patient Suffering From Valvular Heart Disease?

Question: My doctor has prescribed femilin pills as oral contraceptive. This was done after a PAP smear test and she knows that I have a rheumatic heart. I just want to know if it is safe. The literature with the pills says that my condition requires to be under observation...I am administered Penidure LA 12 every 21 days

Femilon should not be given to the patients with valvular heart disease.
It can altered blood clotting and can lead to embolus and further problems.
I will suggest you to discuss with your doctor and change the contraceptive to progesterone only contraceptive like cerazette.
