Is Flotral Or Urimax Effective For Voiding Dysfunction While Having An Enlarged Prostate?

Both drugs belong to the same group of medicine.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have obstructive voiding symptoms due to Enlarged Prostate and have been taking Flotral 10 mg.
As regards your query about the efficacy of Flotral (Alfuzosin) and Urimax (Tamsulosin). I would state that both these drug belong to same group of medicine called Alpha Adrenergic receptor blockers and have similar mode of action of relaxing smooth muscles in bladder neck, prostate and thereby help to relax smooth muscles in bladder neck and prostatic part of urethra and thereby help to improve urine flow hence efficacy of one over the other cannot be compared.
You can take either of the two drugs.
Hope I have answered your query, please feel free to ask if you have more questions, I shall be happy to help you.

I have been advised by a Doctor to move to Urimax D. I want to know whether there are any adverse side effects to Urimax D compared to Flotral 10.
Also, how should I know whether I need to go for a Prostate operation.
Consult qualified Urologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Flotral and Uriah are the drugs that belong to the same group however Surinam D is a combination of Tamsulosin and Dutasteride Dutasteride acts by reducing the size of the prostate but has the side effect of reducing the sexual desire. As regards time or need to decide about surgery it is decided by qualified Urologist and depends upon the severity of symptoms and quality of life that has been affected by these symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Would it be better to get a PSA and Ultrasound check done before I meet the urologist?
All three parameters are equally important to decide about surgery.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
All the three tests that you have mentioned are equally important and has a role to play in making a diagnosis and taking a decision about the need for surgery A order of preference would be
1) Ultrasound Scanning 2) PSA 3) Digital Rectal examination.
Get PSA and Ultrasound scan done before you go to Urologist.
