Is HIV-1/-2 Antibody Screening Test Done 3 Months Post Exposure Conclusive?

HIV 1 & 2 tests
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Antibodies to HIV generally appear in the circulation 3-12 weeks following infection. If your supposed exposure is on 04.6.2015 -then by now 3 months have passed. So for all practical purpose you are negative for HIV infection with those negative results.
Both 1 & 2 are enzyme immuno assay (EIA) tests and these are more than 99.5 % sensitive. You have undergone 4th generation test which combine detection of antibody to HIV 1 & 2 and p24 antigen capture assay. These test are usually reported as positive, negative (non-reactor ) and indeterminate. The tests are repeated or further test like Western blot is asked for when the test is indeterminate.
In a nutshell, for all practical purposes, you have negative results. Therefore you need not worry. Be assured about your HIV negative status.
If possible can you upload the test reports of 8.9.15 and 10.12.15 for perusal as reference ranges differ from Lab to Lab.

CMIA at 12 and 24 weeks post-exposure
Detailed Answer:
HIV-DUO Serum by CMIA (4th generation)is conclusive at 6 weeks. You have undergone repeated tests on 8.9.15 (12 weeks) and 10.12.15 (more than 24 weeks) following exposure.
CMIA provides more accurate results earlier than the ELISA test.
Since your value (0.08) is much below the reference range of 1 (considered reactive) and that too after a period of 6 months, you are not carrying HIV infection anyway.
The initial test is negative at 12 weeks; retesting should be performed
only as clinically indicated. However you have undergone re-testing (you can consider as 6 month test) which has also come negative;hence HIV infection is ruled out.

HIV testing repeatedly negative
Detailed Answer:
Your second test on 10.12.15 is a six month test, whatever you can call it..In fact there is no such test as 6 month test for HIV.There is no requirement of any further test for HIV in your case.Rest assured.
