Question: I have checked hiv dna psr test after six month of sex with a lady. The result is nagative. Is it enough or i will do another test

Hi,

I suggest you to get ELISA test for HIV antibodies. This is much cheaper and effective than PCR test at this stage. They are more sensitive test than HIV PCR test.

how long it will be taken for the result. Before PCR test the skin doctor also took hiv test in his hospital, it was negative but i did not know what type of the test it is

Your doctor would have done a Rapid HIV test which is very quick and would be result in 15 min to 20 min.
ELISA at lab would take 24 hours.

Dear Madam

I went to the blood bank and told them to test by elisa method but they informed me about the Eclia and they have changed from elisa to Eclia. It is advance from elisa. The result is negative . What do i do now . Do i go to other blood bank or is it enough. They have tested for hiv 1 ag, p24, hiv 1 and 2 igc ab- . All the result are negative. it has been 11 months over after the unprotected sex
