Is HIV Antibody Test Done 42 Days Post Exposure Conclusive?
Question: Hello, I had an encounter with a girl 6 weeks ago; I kiss her (deeply) for around 15 minutes and also I finger her vagina for around 10 minutes (I had a hangnail in my thumb, i didnt insert my thumb but some fluid might touch it).
I become very scared about this encounter and went for an HIV antibody test (particle agglutination) yesterday (6 weeks after or 42 days) and it came Negative.
I want to know if there is some risk.
Thanks,

Not big risk. Reassurance with the test. But if still worried repeat in 6 m
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
From what you are describing the risk its very very low.
If you had any wound in your mouth/lips or if the hanging nail had any blood on it..might be a risk, always if the girl had HIV.
I would say you should be pretty relaxed with the test you did.
But to be extra sure you can repeat the test in 6 months.
Hope this is helpful.
