
Is HIV Antibody Test Done After 40 Days Of Exposure Conclusive?

Question: I did antibody anti hiv1 and hiv2 and ag p24 test after 40 days of exposure and it came out negative and later the infectious units call me again for another test. my question this negative test at 40days not reliable.

The duo test usually measures antibody to HIV1 &2 and p24 antigen.It is good that it is negative.
Antibodies may take 2 weeks to 3 months to be formed.
So they may repeat the test again after 3 months.After 3 months it will be conclusive.
