Is HIV Test Done After 48 Weeks Conclusive?
I am a 29 year old I had a brief unprotected sex with a CSW on 1st October 2015 post which i got very scared I got tested from a reputed lab Metropolis healthcare which is international after 7 weeks which came out to be negative.
Since i had done lot of reading and research as a result of sheer obession i got myself tested in the following weeks 12;22;25;28;31;36;40; 48
In one year i got myself tested 10 times with 4th Gen DUO test all of them came negative my worries are
1. My last HIV test index value was 0.16 and before that all my reports index value was below 0.09 why is there an increase in the value is that I am getting infected??
2. After 48 weeks HIV test which came negative i took a CBC test in which my total WBC count is higher than the reference range i.e 10850 and ref range is 4000-10500.
One of a online forum Dr said i am suffering from mild infection is this by any chance beacuse of HIV??
3. I had read that if total wbc count is low than among the possiblties HIV is one of them however HIV was not mentioned in the possibilties if WBC count is higher is this information true?
4. Lastly after all these tests am I 100℅ HIV free should i get tested again please help I am getting married in 4 months and this is making me very paranoid what do i do??
Please answer my queries in details it will be very helpful
I think you need to stop it all together
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
As you know (I assume you are well aware) that you are not infected as shown by almost 10 lab reports in last one year and despite that thoughts are occuring unchecked which indicates that it is just an obsession and compulsion inform of the repeated tests.
You need to see psychiatrist for the treatment of OC neurosis and do not need any other tests at least on this point of time.
I may sound rude to you but definitely there is need to stop this chain of thoughts and I do not think you will be able to do it alone.
Regarding your questions
1. Both 0.09 and 0.16 are within normal range and this is just a laboratory data and do not indicate anything significant.
2. for slightly elevated WBC mild infection is possible explanation.
3. Yes this is true. WBC count do not increase in HIV infection.
4. No you do not to tested again.
I hope this answers your question.
Thanks and regards.
