Is HIV Test Done After 6 Months Conclusive?

Question: Late January/early February I had unprotected sex. Last Thursday, August 27th, I took an HIV test that came back negative. Can I trust these results? Thanks!

Welcome to HCM. The test results can be trusted using the traditional 6 month window, however, there are those experts that believe that truly to be safe is to have another 1 year later depending on the type of exposure you had. For example if one had unprotected sex with a known HIV positive person, I would definitely re-test after a year. I hope that this helps you out, thanks and good luck.

I don't believe he had HIV. He said he didn't. I just have severe anxiety. So you think my tests were accurate, then?
