Is HIV Test Done Post 4 Weeks Of Exposure Conclusive?
Considerations
Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.
While you did engage in activity that would be considered high-risk it appears that there is a very low likelihood that you have contracted HIV.
It would be reasonable to repeat the test again in four weeks and at that point if it remains negative then I think you will have confirmation that you have not contracted the virus.
I realize that you're probably experiencing a significant amount of anxiety and worry regarding this. Again I see a very low likelihood that you have contracted the virus. Please have a confirmatory test performed once again in about four weeks and beyond that I don't think any additional testing is needed.
Thank you again for sending your question.
Sincerely,
Dr. Galamaga
