Brief Answer:
Treatment depends on site of infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concerns but don't worry. Let me tell you something about this first of all. Anyone can be infected with HSV, regardless of age.1out of 5 people in US is affected by this and they have a good life.

It is important to understand that although someone may not have visible sores or symptoms, they may still be infected by the virus and may transmit the virus to others.

This type of virus is generally diagnosed with a physical examination. HSV testing, also known as a herpes culture, is used to confirm the diagnosis if you have sores on your genitals. During this test, a swab sample of fluid from the sore is taken and then send it to a laboratory for testing.

Blood tests looking for antibodies to HSV-1 and HSV-2 may also be used to diagnose these infections. This is especially helpful when there are no sores present.

People who become infected with HSV will have the virus for the rest of their lives. Even if it does not manifest symptoms, the virus will continue to live in an infected person’s nerve cells. Some people may experience regular outbreaks. Others will only experience one outbreak after they have been infected, after which the virus may become dormant. Even if a virus is dormant, an outbreak can be triggered by certain stimuli, such as:

stress
fever or illness
sun exposure or sunburn

It is believed that the outbreaks may become less intense over time because the body starts creating antibodies. If a generally healthy individual has been infected with the virus, there are usually no complications.

Although there is no cure for herpes, treatments can relieve the symptoms. Medication can decrease the pain related to an outbreak and can shorten healing time. They can also decrease the total number of outbreaks. Drugs including Famvir, Zovirax, and Valtrex are among the drugs used to treat the symptoms of herpes. Doses and duration of treatment depends on site of infection. Warm baths may relieve the pain associated with genital sores.

If you are experiencing an outbreak of HSV-1, try to avoid direct physical contact with other people.

Brief Answer:
You can do the tests later if you wish

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome again
In my opinion you can do it when ever it's feasible for you. HSV is mainly a clinical diagnosis and tests are only to support the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to herpes simplex virus

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Herpes Simplex virus infection leads to genital lesions which are sores typically occuring on the penis, vagina, buttocks, or anus.

It is possible that your sores could disappear without treatment. However, your doctor may determine that you need one or more of the following medications:

acyclovir
famciclovir
valacyclovir

These medications can help infected individuals reduce the risk of spreading the virus to other people. The medications also help to lower the intensity and frequency of outbreaks.

Betamethasone and fusidic acid creams are not helpful in herpes sores.

When i used betamethasone cream its healed in 7days
doctor
Answered by Dr. Archana Verma (4 hours later)
Brief Answer:
fine

Detailed Answer:
If it was due to HSV it might have healed on its own as per it's normal course as I described. But if it was due to any other inflammation, betamethasone might have helped it to heal. Your diagnosis will be clear only once it's confirmed by clinical examination by a dermatologist or laboratory work up. Till then, all are presumptions.
