Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
I hope your platelet count is 600000 and not 600. The various problems in your body though under control give rise to increased platelet counts. If there is further increase in your platelets you definitely need platelet correcting medicine lest it causes embolic phenomenon.
Hydroxyurea (Hydria) is the best of all the medicines used for conyroling platelet counts. It can be put off and put on according to counts unlike other drugs which after discontinuation also keep on rendering action and sometimes turn harmful. If your other body problems are under control possibly the platelet count will also get reduced. To start with you could start with anti platelet agent like coated aspirin.
Your doctor must have the reason having put you on hydrea.
There are hardly any side effects though documented with small dose of 500 mg. of hydrea. So do not worry and maintain the trust on your doctor.

Thrombocytosis
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
Thank you for reverting. Continue taking Hydrea and aspirin. There is absolutely no risk with this dosage. I am sure there will be no complication. Once your chronic problems wane your platelets will come down and can withhold the drug once the count reaches 400000.
Best of Luck.
Truly.
