Is I Pill Advisable When On Diane Contraceptive Pills?

Depends on which day Diane 35 was started
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. I would like to know whether she has started Diane 35 from the first day of her periods, because if she has started on that day and is taking them consistently daily at almost the same time of the day , then it will be having its contraceptive effect and there is no need of taking I pill after unprotected intercourse.
However, if this is not the case, she should take emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
If she is not taking Diane 35 from the first day of periods, then she should stop taking them and take emergency contraceptive pills( I pill), as Diane35 will have no effect on implantation of the conceptus if fertilization has occurred, while I pill prevents fertilization as well as implantation of conceptus. Moreover, Diane35 contains cypoterone acetate, which is a progesterone with androgenic properties , and has virilizing effect on the female fetus.

Thanks for getting back. I checked with her. She has started Diane 35 from the first day of her periods but missed one day this month.
please advise.
Two pills of Diane 35 on next day
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. I would further like to know if she has taken 2 tablets of Diane 35 on the next day of missing the pill.
If she has taken 2 tablets, then the contraceptive efficacy of Diane35 will be maintained. If she has not taken2 tablets on next day of missing pill, then the contraceptive effect can wean off, and ovulation can occur and hence the conception can occur.
Please do get back to me with these details.

She has taken tablets for entire week after missing and also taken 2 tabs the next day she missed.
please advise.
No need of taking i pill
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. If she has taken 2 tablets the next day after missing the tablet, then there is no reason to worry as the contraceptive efficacy of Diane35 will be maintained.
There is no need to take I pill in that case.
However, you both should keep in mind that even oral contraceptive pills like Diane35 have a failure rate of 0.1%, hence very very rare chances of conception are there even when on these pills.
