Question: my name is XXXXXXX I have a colostomy & Ileo Conduit . they bhave removed a lot of my bowel, I have been on MS Contin for 15 years taking 400 mg per day. I have been to a clinic to reduce the dosage so I am now down to 80 mg twice daily with top up morphine as required. I also have an internal fistular and am in great pain most of the time. Is their a stronger drug i.e. Ketamine that would be more affective.

Hi, i understand that you are in great pain, but ketamine is not a choice here..
1. It is not an analgesic but a dissociative anesthetic drug.
2. It is a prohibited drug and availability is a big issue.
3. Available in an injectable form, but ca be drunk, have lots of complications and needs a lot of supportive medicine.
Morphine is the stongest analgesic available in tab form that can be easily procured and used.
Other drugs more potent than morphine are drugs like ketorolac and butorphanol and buprinorphine but again these drugs have their own range of serious side effects and available only in injectable form.
