Is Levocetirizine Effective In Treating Nasal Allergies?

Question: Hi, For a nasal allergy which further have effects in throat, which antiallergic medicine do you suggest. Previously I was taking Levocetrizine 10mg & now Levocetirizine (5mg), Montelukast(10mg)
What I observed Levocetrizine 10mg was working better on the nasal part but did not helped much in throat. Now with the Levocetirizine (5mg), Montelukast(10mg) I feel it is less effective in nasal part.
So should I go ahead with Levocetirizine (10mg), Montelukast(10mg)
The symptoms I feel is a mild irritating pain in whole body (only when I go to bed) & this really spoils the quality sleep. Feel stiffness & non energetic all the day with irritation in nose.

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
Please tell me for how long are you having these symptoms?
Have you got any investigations done like Xray or CT scan?
Most of the times there is a nasal pathology associated with rhinitis. Only oral anti Allergic may not be so helpful. A combination of levocetrizine and montelukast is a better option.
Follow up with the required information so that I can suggest you better.
Thanks and regards

This allergy I am suffering form last 8 years.
On suggession of ENT speciallist I have done X rays twice but all was ok with that.
For few months I used the Nasal Sprays Flixonase aqueous nasal spray & Later Rhinocort Aqua. These also were not very helpful.
Some Homeopathic doctor suggested me that all this is due to improper sleep

Hi
Thanks for the information
Please send me the x-ray picture.
Take tablet levocetrizine plus montelukast once daily
Flixonase Ft nasal spray once daily.
Take steam inhalation.
Avoid direct contact with dust..you can wear a face mask.
In my opinion there must be some nasal pathology for such symptoms. So please follow up with the x-ray.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
