Is Levofloxacin Effective At Treating Fever, Coughing And Green Mucus?

Question: I was diagnosed with pneumonia on Thurs. at a walk-in clinic. Still running fever and coughing and blowing thick green mucus. I WAS PERSCRIBED CEFDINIR 300 MG. IT HAS NOT TOUCHED IT. It's also given me a flushed face. It is Sunday and I have Amox TR K CLV 125 Mg. I also have Sulameth/Trimeth Ds tab A10. I am 70 years old and have a weak immune system. My email : YYYY@YYYY

First I would like to see the chest x Ray in order to evaluate better and grade the pneumonia.

However, if you were my patient according to the history you provide I would recommend you to use Levofloxacin orally once per day for ten days.

The current treatment you are taking is not working so it would be better for you to change it. Please discuss with your doctor for the above

No pharmacy available until Mon - small town. I can not take Levoflaxin as it has caused neurophysiology. So my choices today are Sulfameh/trimeth or Amox Tr K CLV. Those are the 2 I have on hand. We leave the country every year so I always take an antibiotic as I've never been able to get well on my own. Tomorrow I will go to my pulmonologist, but meanwhile I need to take one of these two. Which would be best for pneumonia? XXXXXXX Stevens
