Is Medrol The Right Medicine For Swollen Lymph Nodes Around Abdominal Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: My son has been experiencing abdominal pain about 5 weeks, some so severe they caused vegal responses. Saw GI spec in OK City. Enteroscopy performed found darkened areas in duodenum. Blood tests negative for bacterial and viral infection. Prescribed Dexalant, which helped some, but symptoms recurred 4 days into treatment. Has finished 15-day treatment period. CT performed 8 days ago showed enlarged lymph nodes around stomach. Blood test 4 days ago showed lower than normal platelet count. Very difficult to get followup appointments. Contacted by GI's office and sent a prescription for Medrol Dose Pak. Packaging warns not to take if possibility of ulcers. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Tests reports are needed first....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

First, I need to have the reports of endoscopy and ct-scan. I also want to know if the doctor ran biopsy of the darkened area as you report.

With regards to medrol use, as long as your doctor did not diagnose with ulcer, there is no problem in using it.

Looking forward to have the requested reports in...
