Yes it is used for this purpose

Detailed Answer:
Meloxicam is in a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Any drug in this class can be used for the purpose of treating menstrual cramps. My only concern is that you are 70 years of age and should not be getting menstrual cramps anyway. Also, this medication can be very hard on the lining of your stomach and may increase the risk of stomach ulcers.
