Is Meprate Safe While Breastfeeding?
Can be safely taken during lactation.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone) is known to pass through breast milk in small amounts, but is generally considered safe for use in women who are nursing. Studies indicate that medroxyprogesterone in breast milk will not harm a nursing infant and so you can take it safely while breastfeeding.
The periods do not occur during pregnancy due to lactational amenorrhea. I would not recommend you to take any medicine to induce periods during breastfeeding since it is not physiological. However, if you want you can simply take any oral contraceptive pill. Stopping them at the end of the cycle will automatically give you periods.
Taking and stopping meprate will also give you periods.
Let me know if I could help further.

Thanks for the update. Even if you have got a period, if you are religiously and exclusively breast feeding your baby, your periods are likely to be irregular for the next few months.
