Should I and wife take METRONIDAZOLE for a week and see if clears up.
The hanger is I was exposed to Chagas Disease several times back in 2008 and 2010 but was never able to get an "Eliza Test!! I have enlarged Prostrate take 5 mg Cialis daily.
Yes, a short course of antibiotics would be handy

Hello,
As per your symptoms, the possibility of a Gastrointestinal infection is very high.
Yes, certainly you would benefit from the intake of Antibiotics like Metronidazole. But 7 days would be a bit longer. A shorter course of 3 to 5 days is usually advisable.
Additionally, I generally recommend a complete stool examination and an ultrasound abdomen to my patients with such symptoms before initiating therapy.
ELISA is usually not required to diagnose Chagas disease or follow it's the course of illness.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to improve your symptoms.
