Is Motrin Intake Safe For Viral Fever With Conjunctivitis?
Question: My son have a pink eye and the Pediatrician give us Moxeza because he is having a yellow discharge. (one drop twice a day for 5 days) Now is having fever of 100.7f. Is that okay to give him Motrin? He also caught a cold (cough and nasal discharge) so I don't know if the fever has to do with the eye or with the cold.
Thank you,
Brief Answer:
yes, you can give him Motrin
Detailed Answer:
Your son is probably having viral fever with conjunctivitis. Yes, you can give him Motrin every 6 hourly depending on his body weight and symptoms.
He can also take vit c 500 mg chewable tablet daily for faster healing.
Record temperature 6 hourly. Maintain hydration by oral fluid.
Also, do continue with the Moxeza drops for as long as prescribed.
The fever is mostly related to the cold and cough. It is all viral in nature.
