Is Mucinex Effective In Treatment Of Fibromyalgia Syndrome?
Question: I have heard about using Mucinex / Guaifenesin as a treatment for fibromyalgia syndrome. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX has posted the results from a small clinical study online with the excuse it was negative therefore not worth publishing. Meanwhile there are a lot of testimonials posted online from people saying it helped them. What do you think?

Well, this has no role in fibromyalgia. Only drug which is beneficial is TCA group and aerobic exercise

While I was waiting for your response, I found where Mark London posted an online analysis of FMS and Guaifenesin Mucinex One Medicine Several Effects (link below) suggesting that there were several effects of guaifenesin which could explain the benefits reported anecdotally, specifically the muscle relaxant effect. Have you had any experience with using muscle relaxants for people with FMS?

There is no randomized control trial for the benefits of these drugs.
I came across with some literature, claiming about the benefits. But still there is no concrete evidence.
