Is Novasure Eblation A Safe Procedure?
The new suggestion of my doctor is to have a Novasure eblation. It is scheduled for this Friday. My concern is this. I noticed tonight while exploring with my finger that my cervix is extremely enlarged and 'low', to the point where I reach it at my second finger joint. Normally, I would need to go to my knuckle to feel it. I can imagine that expelling the Mirena caused inflammation, but this is quite extreme and sudden. The number one question on my mind is, could this affect the appropriateness and safety of the planned eblation in three days. I am extremely nervous about abnormalities in the shape of my uterus resulting in burns or colon damage.
safe procedure even with inflamed cervix
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Novasure is a form of endometrial ablation therapy.
It is the latest and most advanced method with minimal complication rate because of its extreme precision.
It will ablate the excessive endometrium which will eventually fail to regrow and thus relieve you from bleeding issues promptly.
The inflamed cervix you are explaining is most probably due to inflammation but still mention that to your operating surgeon so that he examines you before taking up for surgery.
Moreover the procedure of ablation won't be affected by this inflamed state of cervix.
Wish you all the best.
