Is Oflox Syrup Advisable For Throat Infection And Cough In Child?
Question: can i give oflox100 sysrup for throat infection & cough to 2 yr. old my daughter?
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
You can give olflox 100 syrup safely for throat infection and cough in a child of 2 years of age, but I would not recommend that. Most of cough and cold as well as sore throat is caused due to viral infections where antibiotics are ineffective. Even if it was caused due to certain bacteria, ofloxacin (the medicine contained in oflox) is not the right antibiotic to kill those bacteria. Irrespective of use of antibiotics, even if it is sore throat, it resolves in around 5-7 days.
Steam inhalation and gurgle with lukewarm water would be helpful. Also give some anti allergic syrup like relent and be patient. Please do not self medicate in case of a small child like yours.
