Is Progesterone Safe During Pregnancy?

Question: What happens if you take progesterone (susten 200/day) throughout pregnancy without knowing your progesterone levels.Does it affect the mother or the baby in anyway.(I m in a foreign country with no medical insurance.)Each time I try to stop I get severe backache and pelvic pains.Was advised to take susten 200 mg in native country.I m 26 weeks pregnant.Please reply .

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
You can use progesterone through out your pregnancy without much side effects.
It is equivalent to natural progesterone,support pregnancy and can cause only nausea, headache and vomiting as a side effect.
So you can continue progesterone after consulting your treating physician upto 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Thank you so much for your answer.I m relieved for now.As I don't have a treating physician now as I m foreign country and I plan to return to native country at 30 -32 weeks,what about taking susten 200 mg till then if I get backache and cramps .Is it dangerous after 28 weeks.I have had my anatomy scans at 22 weeks and they were fine according to sonographer.
