In the beginning only let me admit for not understanding your query properly. By 50-60 RBCs ..you meant so many RBCs in urine check up (and I took it as a routine blood & urine exam result). I am sorry for the misinterpretation.

Kidney is a vital organ for health.. & 50-60 RBCs per high power field in routine microscopic urine check up (normal value being 0 to 2 ) ... forms an alarming symptom... as it could be due to something serious in kidney.

RBCs in such amount in urine can be seen in various kidney infections, genital infections/kidney diseases or kidney stones . or cancer...

With the results of high RBC counts in urine analysis all of these conditions need to be excluded/found ..... for early diagnosis & specific treatment are essential for early improvement & preventing serious side effects.


That is why your doctor has advised for urgent scan... please follow the instructions given for your husband's early recovery.

It's good that the kidney stone scan date is tomorrow itself.... Kidney stone scan could be CT scan (which gives 3 D picture of kidney & all the urinary tract)./usg scan- uses sound waves to demarcate the urinary tract . Both the scans locates stone.& other pathologies too.


Please push off the scare... your doctor would use either of the method suitable for patient. Whatever way the scanning is done.. it's a safe method without any pain or side effect. I am sure with no other specific symptoms (not been posted by you...) it would come out to be a stone only. Which occurs due to raised concentration of certain salt crystals in urine.. which unite to form stones of different sizes & at different sites...these stones cause stretching or scratching injury in urinary tract to cause bleeding/burning in urination.

Treatment of kidney stone could be by medicines/lithotrypsy or surgery in few cases.

Please don't worry... I had narrated the list ..just to complete the information and not to scare you.
