Is Regesterone A Contraceptive Pill?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am XXXX here. I had a d&c last month at 10 weeks.. The baby died at 8 weeks. I have been advised to take regesterone tablets from 14 to 24th of cycle days for next 3 months. I have read online that it is a form of contraceptive pill. But the doctor told that it is not so. And I can try to conceive. Can you please explain. Is it true that it prevents ovulation?. Why was I prescribed this medicine?. My periods were always regular and I dont have any other problem. My age is 29

The doctor who prescribed me these tablets told me to start trying to conceive in the next cycle itself... So if I trying to conceive, are these tablets safe?.. I don't want to try and be anxious for positive result.. If these tablets are given to actually delay pregnancy, then I don't want to try and feel dejected
