Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I have understood it.
As far as the sexual act is concerned there is absolutely nothing to worry. There is no risk of an STD from this particular sexual act.
I think you can just stop worrying about it and move on. There is no risk of any disease, whatsoever, from a handjob.
Regards

Thanks for the quick respond.
Even she was laying side by side and for some time she was also above me for some time, might have her under wear touched my penis.Still no risk.
I have visited one doctor and he has also advised my VDRL and ELISA for HIV 1 & 2 after 1 month. Are these test sufficient for my satisfaction.

Brief Answer:
Can take STD testing for your own peace of mind
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Though the risk is very less because not a lot of vaginal fluids would have been exchanged through this contact but it is better to get tested for your own peace of mind.
You can screen for Syphilis (VDRL/RPR), HIV (HIV DUO test) as well as Genital Herpes earliest at 1 month.
Tests for HIV should be repeated at 12 weeks to cover for the window period of detection of HIV.
VDRL should also be redone at 12 weeks because incubation period of syphilis varies from 9-90 days (i.e up to 12 weeks).
Moreover if you notice any ulcer pr sores in genital region you must get yourself checked

Brief Answer:
Can lead a normal sexual life with certain precautions
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Your doctor is right, Herpes labialis is fairly common in general population.
It can be transmitted by close/ intimate contact, either sexual contact e.g Oral sex Or non-sexual contact e.g kissing.
Transmission by inanimate objects is not possible e.g sharing a glass of water etc
Herpes labialis is usually caused by type 1 HSV. The infection once acquired stays forever.
Herpes labialis may cause recurrent episodes. However, frequency of recurrences decreases with time.
You may pass it on to your sexual partner by kissing thus leading to labial herpes/ cold sores in her Or by active oral sex i.e oro-vaginal, thereby causing genital infection/ herpes.
The chances of transmission are more during an active episode of Herpes labialis/ cold sores than during clinically asymptomatic phases.
Nevertheless, the infection can still be passed on to your sexual partner during clinically asymptomatic phases.
However, most individuals with labial herpes lead a normal sexual life provided they can avoid intimate Oral contact (sexual as well as non-sexual) during clinically active sores (usually 5-7 days)
Clinical episodes can be treated by Oral antivirals which also reduce the risk of transmission by healing the sores faster.
