Is Superia DSR Safe To Take For Acidity?

Question: Dear Dr. XXXXXXX - The following treatment was advised by you on 26th July 2016 for treatment of my headache :-

Hello,
You can take either
1) Tryptomer 25 mg + Betacap TR 40 mg + Alprax 0.25
2) Tryptomer SR 50 mg + Betacap TR 40 mg
The duration may be from 3-6 months. The review is needed again at 3 months of therapy from starting.

I have been taking Tryptomer 25 mg + Betacap TR 40 mg + Alprax 0.25. There is improvement in headache, but still I get mild headache in between. Particularly, when I get up in the morning I have mild headache with uneasiness. Please advise if I need to change the medicine to option No. 2 (i.e. Tryptomer SR 50 mg + Betacap TR 40 mg) or any other combination which you may like to advise.

Also, I wish to inform you that I take one tablet of Superia DSR in the morning for acidity. Is it a safe medicine and can I continue to take it.

You can continue the first combination if sleep is normal.

There is absolutely no disturbance in the sleep and am also taking food on time. I communicated with you since I am taking 25 mg + Betacap TR 40 mg + Alprax 0.25 for almost one month and still headache is not completely over. I have to take pain killers in between. Do I continue this combination or would you like to suggest a change.

Also, I wish to inform you that I take one tablet of Superia DSR in the morning for acidity. Is it a safe medicine and can I continue to take it.
Just to give an example of my abrupt pattern of headache, yesterday throughout the day I had no headache. I took dinner at 9 pm and slept at 10.30 pm after a brief walk. When I got up today morning at 6.30 am, I had headache and till now it is continuing. I am avoiding a pain killer so far. This is how I get headache without any known reason. Please help.

Hello,
Episodic headache may occur in between and needs to be treated by additional pain killers like naxdom.
Rest drugs should be continued as such.
There is no harm in taking acidity drugs for few months. You can continue.
It may take some time for complete relief.
Persistent frequent headache episodes may require increasing betacap to 60 mg or adding sibelium 10 mg.

1. I take Betacap 40 mg in the morning. Should I increase the dosage to 60 mg?

2. Just to share with you, Tryptomer gives me relief. Can I increase the dosage to 50 mg instead.

Please advise which would be a better option from the above 2.

Hello,
Increasing Tryptomer may lead to increased sedation, dry mouth and decreased sexual drive.
If you can tolerate then dose can be increased.
Alternatively Betacap TR 60 mg can be taken too.
Count pulse rate while increasing Betacap as higher dosage may lead to decreased heart rate.
