Is TLC Count Of 22,000 A Cause For Concern When Diagnosed With Pneumonia?

Question: My husband is 64 and he is having muscle spasms in his stomach and his white cell count is 22,000 the er doctor said it is from a abscess tooth they did ex-rays and the dr. said it looked like pneumonia and did a ct but did not say what it showed

i read your question and i understand your concern. Raised TLC of 22 thousand with pain in epigastrium and x rays showing abscess makes it pneumonia and CT scan might just be confirming the pneumonia. Your husband needs prompt antibiotics with broad spectrum probably in combination and good chest physiotherapy and proper nutritive support and hopefully he will recover in a couple of weeks.
