Is TSH Level Of 6 A Cause For Concern?

Question: In recent tests got TSH level to be around 6. So that makes it HypoThyroidism.
I wanted to know is there any way out to cure it? or i will have to start thyronorm?

Dear XXXXXXX Hi and welcome to HCM. I am Dr. XXXXXXX See as of now the value anything above 10 for TSH requires treatment beyond doubt. TSH below 3.5 is normal beyond doubt. So for the values in between as in your case we call it sub clinical. Now if you are having symptoms, as weight gain, hair fall, irregular periods, oversleepiness, depression then we do start on treatment, but if you are not symptomatic, then we may wait and repeat test after 3 months. Meanwhile try to eat healthy, exercise regularly and lose some weight.
