Is Triamcinolone Ointment Safe To Apply Past It's Expiration Date?
Question: Hi,
I had eczema on my feet last year. It cleared up and I still have a jar of Triamcinolone ointment 0.1%. The label says to discard after 11/04/17. I am wondering if it is still safe to apply to my feet to get some relief until I can get to my doc?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Brief Answer:
Avoid applying this cream
I would recommend you to not apply this cream on the eczematous skin as it has already expired 9 months back.
Instead you can apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily.

The discard date on the jar is November, 2017. That was just 2 months ago.
