Is Tusq-D Advisable During The Second Trimester Of Pregnancy?
Category C drug, can be taken as per prescription of your doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
TusQ D contains dextromethorphan which is a Category C drug w.r.t. risk in pregnancy i.e studies in animals showed adverse effects on the fetus and human trials or data is lacking. If there is a compelling condition where the benefits outweigh the risks and your doctor has prescribed it then then you can take it as 2nd trimester is relatively much safer than 1st and 3rd especially in terms of drug side effects. Please consult your doctor before taking any medication especially in pregnancy.
Wishing you best of health

Hello.
Intractable forceful / severe Cough can lead to increase in intra abdominal pressure which can be harmful to both you and the baby. TusQ d can be taken in such a case in the second trimester. However , you should visit your doctor, first to examine you and prescribe it accordingly.
