Is Wood's Lamp Examination The Right Way To Diagnose Vitiligo?

Question: I have vitiligo and I want my own wood's lamp to show hidden vitiligo patches.
Which bulb type do i need?

i appreciate your concern.
the woods lamp examination is a typical one to diagnose vitiligo.it i also used to diagnose porphyria,bacterial and fungal infection,pigment disorders etc.
Hypopigmentation or depigmentation :
Lesions demonstrate increased sharpness of borders under Wood lamp examination and fluoresce bright blue-white owing to the increased amount of dermal collagen illuminated. This results from decreased or absent intervening melanin.

Vitiligo: patches, varying in location and extent.
your doctor knows the precautions and procedures.and it should be done by a dermatologist.

yes this BLB lamp is used in woods lamp study.it emits Ultraviolet-A rays which helps to identify the hypo and depigmentation.

you can buy this lamp from internet marketing or some medical instrument store.but the examination should be done under a dermatologist.
