Is Zyloric Effective In Treating High Uric Acid Levels?
Try to keep the uric acid below 6mg/dl
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.Drugs which lower the uric acid are- allopurinol and febuxostat. When the patient is put on allopurinol there may be increase in pain (acute flare up).To counter this pain patient is given anti inflammatory and analgesic drugs along with allopurinol for a month or so. This should be understood.
Lifestyle changes such as controlling weight, limiting alcohol intake( 3-4 peg/week of 60 ml)and limiting meals with meats and fish rich in purines also can help control uric acid level.
Hope this suffices and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
