Question: I am a (almost) 69 year old overweight women with asthma being treated with Advair, Singular & ProAir. I have taken by blood pressure on my left side (135/70 with 73 pulse) and right side (132/74 with 74 pulse. Is this within a normal range? Also, what is acceptable, or wished for pulse rate, for me.

Brief Answer:
no need to worry as your pressure, pulse are fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for your question on HCM. No need to worry as your blood pressure and pulse rate are within normal limits.
Normal systolic blood pressure is between 120-140 mmhg
Normal diastolic blood pressure is between 70-90 mmhg.
Normal pulse rate is between 70-90 per minute.
So your all values are within normal range so need to worry.
Since you are overweight I advice you to loose weight by
1. Regular exercise
2. Diet controll
since you are on antihypertensive drug losartan HCTZ and BP is controlled, I suggest you to continue with the same treatment.
For you optimum BP is 140-90 and pulse is 90. Above this you may need change in medicines.
But for now you are doing well so no need to worry, continue same treatment.
Hope I have cleared your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
