Is A BP Reading Of 138/50 And Lightheadedness A Cause For Concern?

Question: I am 71 years old. Blood pressure Is 138/50 72 . lately I have been getting light headed. should I be worried
Brief Answer:
No serious abnormalities
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Systolic blood pressure 138 mm Hg is normal, diastolic pressure 50 mm Hg is low for young adults, but in your age can be considered as normal. 71 bpm pulse is normal.
If you get light headed I would recommend you to monitor your blood pressure 3 times a day for 5 days, if there are no serious fluctuations, I would advise you to have duplex ultrasound of carotid arteries done.
Hope I could help you
Wishing you good health
